Aeonsemi (www.aeonsemi.com), an innovator of mixed-signal and DSP connectivity ICs, today announced production shipments of AS22010, the second generation of its ChronoPHY™ multi-rate 10GBASE-T Ethernet transceiver family. The AS22010 reduces typical per-port power by 40% compared to the previous generation while simultaneously improving link stability, electromagnetic interference (EMI) immunity, and synchronisation accuracy to support ITU-T G.8273.2 Class D timing performance.
ChronoPHY™ is Aeonsemi’s Ethernet PHY architecture optimised for low-jitter and low-latency operation in time-sensitive networking applications such as wireless infrastructure, AI edge, industrial automation, and real-time Ethernet systems.
“AI is pushing high-speed Ethernet from the data centre to the edge, where energy efficiency and deterministic timing are becoming increasingly critical,” said Yunteng Huang, CEO of Aeonsemi. “The AS22010 extends ChronoPHY™ leadership by delivering more precise synchronisation, more robust connectivity, and a significantly smaller thermal footprint.”
Physical AI systems — including robots, machine vision platforms, and AI-enabled industrial automation infrastructure — increasingly require deterministic, low-latency, energy-efficient, high-speed Ethernet connectivity at the network edge. Built on the massive worldwide installed base of copper Ethernet infrastructure, multi-gigabit Ethernet adoption continues to accelerate due to its ease of deployment, high reliability, backward compatibility, and lower infrastructure upgrade costs.
Field-Proven ChronoPHY™ Architecture, Now with Lower Power and Enhanced Timing
The first-generation ChronoPHY™ established Aeonsemi as a leader in multi-rate copper Ethernet with long cable reach, robust noise immunity, and superior latency stability. The AS22010 further advances those capabilities with:
Purpose-Built for the Copper Edge of AI Infrastructure
Wi-Fi 7 access points require multi-gigabit backhaul to deliver their tri-band aggregate throughput, and Wi-Fi 8 will further increase backhaul bandwidth requirements. NAS platforms running local inference, multi-gigabit switches, and AV-over-IP systems are converging on the same 10GBASE-T port. At the same time, AI-enabled edge infrastructure increasingly depends on deterministic timing, lower power consumption, and always-on connectivity. The AS22010 addresses these requirements by combining deterministic 10Gbps connectivity, power efficiency, and advanced timing capabilities.
Availability
The AS22010 ChronoPHY™ family is specified across the industrial temperature range of –40 °C to +85 °C and is offered in a 7 mm × 7 mm BGA package. Samples, evaluation boards and production quantities are available now.
